Sulphur Recovery Units

SRU vessels can be refractory lined with multilayer refractory systems of brick, castable and plastics. SPIE Hotwork has performed refractory dryouts on numerous SRU vessels such as thermal reactors (reaction furnaces), Scot reactors, waste heat boilers, condensers, converters and incinerators. Thermal reactor refractory dryouts often require temperatures ranging between 1200-1500F (650-815C) while other SRU vessels containing insulating materials seldom exceed 1000F (540C) for the dryout.
